The comments came after a Bihar-based university from where Tomar claimed to have obtained his degree, on Monday told the Delhi High Court that the provisional certificate was not “genuine” and “does not exist in the university’s record”.
New Delhi : The Congress on Tuesday demanded an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his “anti-India” comments made in Germany and Canada when he was on a three-nation tour earlier this month.
Sharma, who raised the issue in the Rajya Sabha earlier in the day, said that it was the prime minister who made comments like “cleaning dirt” and “scam India to skill India” on foreign soil, thereby “insulting the country” and only he can explain what he meant.
“He does not go abroad as BJP leader or in his personal capacity. He goes there with India’s flag and must remember this,” Sharma said, adding that “it was insulting to the country and hence cannot be accepted”.

“It probes the symbiotic relationship between the man and the cricketer. I used to run a website called welovesourav.com where there would be interesting stories about ‘Dada’ (as Ganguly is affectionately called) and the people reading them would tell me to write a book, now I think I have enough material to compile one and so I did,” said Sarkar, hailing from the city where the left-hand batsman grew up playing the game.
